/CH.02 — HOW WE GOT HERE
EVERY STUDIO
HAS AN ORIGIN.
THIS IS OURS.
Out of Ten started with a camera and a kid who couldn't put it down.
Jared has been making photo and video for over a decade — long before there was a studio, a name, or a plan. Just a love for the craft and a habit of staying up too late editing. The work came first. The business came second.
Nina entered the picture later — first as his partner, then as his collaborator. She'd gone to school for film production, which meant she didn't just see what he was making; she understood it. Somewhere between weekend shoots, late-night edits, and the kind of conversations only couples building something together have, Out of Ten stopped being a side project and started being a studio.
ON THE NAME:
The name is a play on our last name — Outten — but it carries more than that. There's the obvious meaning: every project, a perfect ten. But there's a deeper layer too. Ten as in the Ten Commandments. Ten as in a moral framework, a foundation, a set of principles you don't bend on. We build this studio the same way: with conviction, with care, and with the belief that the work we make matters beyond the frame.
That's where the name comes from. That's where the standard comes from. Every project we take on, we treat like it's the one that defines us — because for the client, it probably is. There's no "good enough" in our edit room. There's the ten, or there's the next take.
That's the whole idea. That's all of it.

/CH.03 — THE TEAM
JARED.
ROLE · PHOTOGRAPHER + VIDEOGRAPHER + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
EXPERIENCE · 10+ YEARS
Jared is the eye behind most of what you see on this site. Photographer, videographer, and the studio's creative director — he's the one obsessing over the third frame from the left while everyone else has moved on.
By every spare moment, he's behind a camera. A decade of obsessing over light, composition, and the third frame from the left has sharpened the same instincts he brings to every Out of Ten project. Restraint. Intention. The kind of detail most people never notice — but always feel.
He believes the best photograph is the one you don't pose for. And he won't release a shoot until every frame earns its place.
NINA.
ROLE · PHOTOGRAPHER + AUDIO VISUAL PRODUCER + OPERATIONS
EXPERIENCE · 5+ YEARS
Nina is the reason any of this actually happens. Photographer, audiovisual producer, and the person who turns "what if we…" into a real shoot day with a real timeline and a real result.
She studied film production, which means she didn't fall into this work — she chose it. Long before she and Jared became Out of Ten, she was already learning the language of cameras, scripts, schedules, and the thousand small details that turn an idea into a finished frame.
If you've ever had a conversation with Out of Ten, you've probably been talking to Nina. She makes sure things work.

CREATED WITH PURPOSE.
CRAFTED WITH CARE.
Ten percent of every project goes back to organizations supporting community, justice, and opportunity. Not as a marketing line. As the reason we built this in the first place.
The name reminds us where we come from. Ten as in the standard. Ten as in the foundation. Ten as in the percent that goes back, every time, no exceptions.
That's the whole math. Ten percent. Always.
